Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Taylor is an American actress and producer best recognized for her roles played in Ray Undercover Brother, The Mentalist and The TV show The Mentalist. She graduated with a BA degree in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an actor, producer as well as an actress in film, theater as well as television. She began her acting career with theater, and was later featured in numerous television shows and in mainstream and independent film. She rose to fame as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico in addition to appearing on the epic BET series The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she won critical acclaim as well as various nominations and accolades, among them the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. The actress made her professional debut in the role of Ariel on the stage in The Tempest in 1995.
